![]() For families traveling to receive lifesaving or life-changing medical care for their child, Ronald McDonald House Charities provides a welcoming “home away from home” at their four Oregon locations—at no cost to families. • South Waterfront House at the OHSU Rood Family Pavilion • Portland East House • Springfield House at the PeaceHealth Heartfelt House • Bend House To qualify to stay, families must meet all of these requirements: • Families must have a patient who is 21 years or younger • Families must be receiving treatment at a partner facility • Families must have a current referral from the facility where they are receiving care • At East House in Portland, the patient and guardian must live 30 or more miles from the facility where they are receiving care. (Portland only) • At South Waterfront in Portland, the patient and guardian must live 50 or more miles from the facility where they are receiving care. (Portland only) Also good to know: • Patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian • Patients 18-21 must be accompanied by a support person who is age 18 or older. • In Portland, families experiencing a high-risk pregnancy may request to stay up to two weeks before the delivery date with a doctor’s recommendation. In Bend and Springfield, a family may stay at any high-risk point during pregnancy with a doctor’s recommendation. These services help families stay together, reduce financial strain, and focus on their child’s care, recovery, and healing.
