It takes 100's of volunteer power to make NW Kidney Kids run.
Our Volunteer Program engages adults living with kidney disease, professionals who work with the kidney population and other caring role models within our community by offering opportunities to engage with our kidney kids on a personal level. With the great support and faithfulness of our volunteer team, we are able to provide high-quality, meaningful support to kidney families. Volunteers are essential to our programs and our team is highly committed to serving our mission in an array of roles. Each year over 100 volunteers contribute over 1000 hours of service to NW Kidney Kids.

This year's camp was all about gaining confidence in managing CKD through taking personal responsibility of wellness and making behavior changes. Our amazing group of camp counselors included RNS, a certified Personal Trainer, Resident Nephrologist, Adults living with CKD. Some were participating for the first time while others were long time contributors and even past participants in camp themselves. "Survivor" Teen Camp amazing success was from our volunteer team that fostered camaraderie, dedication and leadership.
2015 Family Camp Counselors
Family Camp was fun filled adventure of "Around the World" activites which were new and exciting including martial arts and salsa dancing. Each year we try to bring a playful and open environment for our families ot connect and this could not be possible with our volunteers who work well leading our children through group activities while parents bond and engage in meaningful sessions with one another. All of our family camp volunteers must be prepared to improvise with games and other fun activites throughout the day to help keep our kids involved and taking time they often don't get to be a kid and relax. We had an amazing team this year and could not have managed the nearly 80 plus kids without a prepared, enthusiastic and creative group of individuals running the show! Thanks again to all of our Family Camp volunteers this year and we can't wait to have you back next year for bigger and better things!
