2015 Family and Teen Camp
Teen Camp
August 4 - August 7, 2015
Aldersgate Retreat Center, Turner, Oregon

Teen Kidney Camp is being expanded from three to four days in 2014. It is exclusively for teens, teens learn to build independence and self-esteem, while educators, physicians and social workers provide them with seminars on health related self-management skills. The training they receive at Teen Kidney Camp is critical in helping to ensure that they keep their transplants and adhere to life with kidney disease.

Campers Qualifiers:
1) Be a High School student - Incoming 9th grader in Fall 2015 or to graduated high school in Spring 2015.

2) Be on diaylsis - HD or PD. We will work with teens that need dialysis during Camp. AND/OR Have received a Kidney Transplant AND/OR Referred for Kidney Transplant AND/OR Recommended by a Pediatric Nephrologist.

Family Camp
August 7 - August 9 2015
Aldersgate Retreat Center, Turner, Oregon

Family Kidney Camp is for children with chronic kidney disease (either on dialysis or having had a transplant) and their family members. Family Kidney Camp addresses the unmet need of providing no-cost education and emotional support services to children with kidney disease and their family members. For many families, Kidney Camp is their only opportunity to connect with other children having a similar experience and access education specific to kidney disease. Participants receive support and information from professionals who understand the challenges associated with kidney disease and both children and parents offer meaningful support to one another. This is especially important to children who are new to kidney disease.

Questions about Teen or Family Camp? Contact Julie, Program Coordiantor at program@nwkidneykids.org or (503) 893-5671.

Registration will open in April 2015 for Oregon and SW Washington residents. To make sure you don't miss out on registering please sign up for our newsletter.
